1. DATA COLLECTION

Personal Information You Provide

• Email address – for account creation, login, and transactional emails.
• Password – for authentication (stored securely via Firebase Auth).
• Display name (optional).

• Purchase History – When you subscribe to eten Premium, we collect information about your subscription status and transaction history to unlock premium features (e.g., unlimited recipes).

Data Collected Automatically

• Device identifiers – Firebase and Apple may collect device IDs for authentication and crash reporting.

• Recipes and cookbook data – recipes you add, import, or save are stored in your account. Note: Deleted recipes are removed from your active count and are not used to calculate subscription limits.

• Shared content – when using the Share Extension.

Data We Do Not Collect

• Payment Information – We do not collect or store your credit card or billing information. All payments are processed securely by Apple via StoreKit.

• We do not sell your personal information.

• We do not use your data for advertising or ad targeting.

2. DATA USAGE

How We Use Your Data

• Account management – to create and maintain your account.

• Subscription Management – To verify your "eten Premium" status, process renewals, and enforce the 10-recipe limit for free-tier users.

• App functionality – to store and sync your recipes.

• Transactional communications – to send verification codes and subscription-related notifications.

Third-Party Services

• Firebase (Google) – authentication and database.

• Customer.io – transactional emails and analytics.

• Unsplash – recipe cover images.

3. DATA RETENTION

Your account data and subscription entitlements are retained for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your purchase history may be retained by Apple in accordance with their records, but your access to premium features in eten will expire at the end of the billing period.

4. CONSENT AND YOUR CHOICES

Subscriptions

By purchasing a subscription, you acknowledge that payments will be charged to your Apple ID account at the confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Your Rights

• Access, correct, or delete your personal data.

• Restore Purchases – You may restore your subscription on any authorized device linked to your Apple ID.
